Our History
Xenia Nazarene Church began as "Lighthouse Mission" on 9/15/1918 with 16 charter members.
They first met in a small upstairs room on W. Main, later moving to the Dakin Building,
then moved to another location on Whiteman Street, and finally to South Detroit Street.
After meeting in these four different locations in town for a few years,
this small group bought a church building at the corner of Orange Street
and Bellbrook Avenue in 1921 which became their "home" for 38 years.
They purchased property at the present location in 1956 and moved into their new building
on 11/20/1960. In 1967 an Educational Building was also built.
After the 1974 tornado destroyed most of the building, it was rebuilt in 1975.
In 1987, acreage was purchased across the street and ministries were expanded
to what we now call the Xenia Community Center.
God has blessed our church with a rich history, dedicated and sacrificial members,
and strong generous outreach ministries. We have much for which to be thankful!
